Subaru WRX

Post by amps »

I have started a full resto on my RHD Oettinger bus and am considering putting a WRX motor in it as it did not come with the Oettinger engine when I bought it.

The van is an auto, What I want to know is if I can get the auto modified for the turbo motor or if I would be better off putting a manual box in.

Was also thinking of maybe putting the 3.3 SVX engine in.

What do you guys think would be my best option.

Many thanks for any input.

Will get some pictures of the resto up soon.

\The auto box may well have been "modified" to handle the Ott.. what engine was it? 2.5 or wbx6?
IIRC, the wbx6 was only available with the auto box!!! or a lot were supplied with it..

If you swap to a manual, then the early 4 speed 2L box is considered toughest, but even so it should be rebiult for that power... (speak to Aidan "beaker" )
