Errr - how do you get it off !!!! :oops:

is it stuck on with a pad?

if so I think you try and "CAREFULLY" use a razor blade or scalple.

Noooo - It is fastened to the roof bodywork with some kind of alloy "clip on" system.

I got a nice new one from Tatton Park VW show but cannot figure out which way to yank / twist / pull the old one to get it off without breaking summat !!

Get hold of it by the end of the stem and twist it. I am sure it will go either direction but twisting to the right did it for me.

No need to yank it, as T3teedub says, just twist it 90 degrees either way.

Yep as above, twist 90 degrees. I swapped mine for the one out of my LT box van so I had the new fangled dip thing for at night :shock:
It's nothing a great deal of time and money can't fix
