T4 steel rims

Post by Al Housman »

I am hoping that I may have a solution to my Doka rim problem.The15" Merc rims I bought are too weak to use on what will essentially be a working pickup carry at times almost a ton of firewood. It seems that T4 6J 15"rims will fit and should, according to the tyre fitter I asked, take the 215/75/15 BFGs that I'm after.I am not quite sure which ET to go for with these and would be grateful if anybody out there has tried this and could let me know before I go getting the wrong rims!!!!Cheers.Al

These rims are not a straight bolt on and need thick spacers(this ultimetly means replacing front wheel bearings in order to fit longer studs"rather costly for the sake of rims")

I've got a T4 Syncro as well as my T3 DOKA.
A number of years a go I bought a set of Merc rims with an ET of 49 which fitted the T3 but with minmal clearance so I got a set of 25mm adapters form Machine7 which are permamently bolted to the T3.
After getting the T4 I realised that I can fit the T4 rims (ET 55) to the T3 as the adapters give sufficient clearance and there is no problem with the smaller wheel centre boss (T3 is 65mm, T4 55 mm I think).
Just one other point to bear in mind with T4 rims is that the later ones may have a PCD of 120 as opposed to the T3's 112.

T3 Syncro DOKA (makeover nearly finished)
T4 Syncro LWB Panel Van - now departed
T3 Syncro SIKA - deciding whether it's for the chop or worth saving
