Got an 82 Aircooled thats sometimes cutting out as though the ignition is being switched off.
This always occurs when the engine is warm, and often (but not always) when putting your foot down to get past something on the motorway for instance.
Often slipping it into neutral, and turning the key gets it straight back to full life, however a couple of times it has broken down for 5 mins or so before restarting.
On advice from a VW specialist I've cleaned up the earth for the low tension cables, however I'm still having the problems. Any advice where to look next anyone. Coil? Any relays that often play up? New low tension cables (if so anyone know where I can get them, non on JK website)?
Just driven all the way back from the Lakes to Bristol with no probs though.
