Starter bush???

Post by tobzman »

Vehicle = 2l a/c (CU)

Right my starter hasn't been great for a while but now the cold weather is coming I need to get it sorted.
When I first start it each morning it kinda turns once, stops, then a split second later starts turning normally. This only happens on the first start each morning then is fine, I therefore suspected the battery so I had that checked at lunchtime, it seems ok.
Does this symptom sound like the starter bush?

I cleaned up the solenoid feed earlier this year when it stopped working altogether. I'm planning on removing and cleaning all the starter connections later this week.

Cheers

Haven't got round to changing mine yet as it has been a lot better lately.
I unplugged my leisure battery for the winter as I think my main battery was gradually running down now I'm using lights, wipers etc everyday.
I think the bush will need doing in the long-run but as I'm dependant on the van at the minute I'm inclined not to mess with it unless it gets a lot worse.
