Seen a few with Fiamma awnings on, they have 3 brackets that clamp onto/into the gutter and hold the awning up above gutter height so the sliding door doesn`t catch it. Have a look on the FIamma website, I`m sure they have pictures of all their brackets for every fitment known to man :) They don`t look hard to make if you are handy with steel and a welder.
Keep it real.

Hi WCJ

Rea;lly want it attached to the high top
I have seen a few vans with the awning attached to the high top, just unsure how to attach and what awning is required.
I know the awning removed from my high top was an omnistor awning and having measured where the holes are it was either 2.5 or 2.6m in length

any help and advice much appreciated

All depends whether you like the idea of drilling into fibreglass and hanging something that heavy from it? You could always just attach a piece of alloy awning rail at the correct height and slide on a Fiamma Carvanstor roll-out awning when required, that`s what I do (mine is a pop-top so the awning rail is fastened into the gutter)
Keep it real.

hi
thought about that but Ive heard thet model is easily stolen if not removed
would like something i can leave all year around

I wonder is the gutter strong enough to take the weight of the boxed wind out awnings :?:

awning

there is a fiamma awning that stays on yer van permanently in a bag type thing-you have to drill/rivet the awning channel to your hightop though!

I think the one you fancy is the fiamma f45i. See this link
http://www.agentfiamma.co.uk/erol.html#1907X0 I'd fancy one myself if it ever came up on ebay.

Omnistor also do one http://www.omnistor.co.uk/productlistin ... TEGORY_1_7

Awning is nearly finished

Post by irishkeet »

Hi

went for the fiamma f45i
Also ordered the westy hightop brackets (£20) & the KIT FIBREGLASS ROOF brackets (£45)

I wanted to make sure I had everything and didnt have to wait on any more bits as i need it fitted for this weekend.

For anyone buying one the brackets that come with the awning are nearly the exact sane as the westy brackets and the fibreglass brackets are a bit OTT

Anyway Im fitting to the hightop with the original brackets, im also using the load spreader plates inside the hightop.

Going well all brackets are on and i hung the awning to test, now just need remove the brackets, seal and fit back on.

I have the brackets resting on the gutter to help with weight (its a heavy awning)

But looks great

If anyone needs advice on doing this please let me know
