leiure batt under seat

hi have looked at the wiki but cant find any leisure batts which will fit under the seat. can anyone reccomend any???

A car battery.

We have a car battery from Halfords and it's fine. Depends on what you'll be using it for though. Ours just runs the lights.

you can get battreys for boats that fit but the are up near £200 or what i did was to fit a normal leasure bat that fitted apart from the height and then put spacers under the saet to give the space

Just use a normal starter battery,most people say that they do the same job and last as long,also if your starter battery does go flat you can use the other one to jump start your engine,where a leisure battery would struggle to start the engine,and ruin the leisure battery.
Most of use use normal starter batterys also it is a good idea to have a split charge system in place so you are charging both batterys while on the move.

i got a car battery there now but need summat beefier to run my stereo and propex all night (my missus is a freezer........... not a real freezer obviously as that would be a little odd on my part!! ...i mean she cant stand the cold!!)
i kill the car battery quite quickly!!! so a decent fit under the seat 60 - 80 amp one would be nice if any one knows of any???

Daft question, as my input often is.

but im looking into a better battery myself, could you fit a bigger battery by removing the seat to fit it then replacing the seat? iv never had the seat out so dont know how big the space is. the other option im looking into is relocating it to under the r&r bed.

I have fitted a dry cell very high capacity battery under my passenger and have fitted it on its side. This gives extra space so can fit a larger capacity battery, but you cannot fit an ordinary battrey this way as they need to be fitted standing upright. Only down side is the price of these batterires. I was very lucky and got one for the right money but normally there £200+. If interested I can give more details of capacity and battery size but need to have a look at it to be sure. Cheers

I researched this to death a few years ago and looked at all sorts of marine and golf buggy options for a few hundred quid a throw. I eventually found a normal car battery to go in there and it has been absolutely fine. There are differing views on deep cycle batteries which I'll not bore you with, but many say that lead/acid is best.

The battery is an Exide model (I can try to get the number off it for you if you like). Came with 4-year guarantee from Ashley Autoparts in Bristol. Fits the slot perfectly. I think it's 90 AH, which should keep your heater going for a while.

they are deep cycle batteries (ideal for leisure) and this particular one does me great. We camp on alot of sites with no hook up and this battery last ages before any signs of loose of power and is capable of being charged from flat 100's of times. As far as I know normal car batteries will not stand up to this much punishment but probably will do the job. I will have a look to see what make, capacity and size I have fitted. get back to you later. cheers
