yo dudes the misses is holidaying in conway in a poorly van,needs a new diesel fuel tank,our van was originally a "y" reg 1.6 diesel.........so which tank do i need fron gsf or is there a better tank available for the same(ish) money?...all gsf says is there are two neck sizes difference,also which other bits will i need.....all advice greatly appreciated................and thanks to all beforehand

taking it that it will be the same set up as the petrol with regard to breathers etc.

the two bolts that hold the big tank straps on are prone to breaking in which case id just move them to one side and drill fresh holes and put new bolts in. breather pipes are advisable to replace whilst the thing is out, its easier.

possibly the rubber pipe between the filler cap and filler neck if its corroded, if you dont have one then you can replace it later

change the fuel sender if it never worked b4.....

to replace, id fit the grommets that go into the tank 1st, this way its much easier to push in the t pieces when its back in position.

im not 100% but i think the smaller diameter filler neck is the plastic one.
