Filler Nozzle Location.

Filler Nozzle Location.
just wondered where abouts other peoples fill-up nozzle is situated, need to get my fillup hose replaced [it has 1990 written on it!] and maybe solenoid valves too as they're prob a similar age, then get a cert for it, the fill up location on mine is below the offside sill, which i've been told is not going to pass the safety cert. as they need to be higher, and of the flush fitting body mounted type, is this true? wouldnt mind the copper pipe replacing and routing a bit better too, the vaporiser and low press. pipes are only a year old, so are ok. thanks for any info, also, if it fails to get a cert, do you need to pay again for another go after the works been done?

thanks folks, it failed the lpga test on the aformentioned fill pipe position, and . . .
too few supports/'p' clips on the copper pipe to vaporiser,
vaporiser too near a heat source [the exh. header pipe]
no rubber between tankstraps and tank,
only one vent pipe going into valve cover box,
low pressure pipe not of the approved spec.
mostly easy stuff to sort out myself, will need to make a heat shield and maybe move vaporiser slightly, add a few 'p'clips, get the correct spec low press. tubing, the replacing/repositioning of the fillup pipe and nozzle i think i'd feel safer leaving to the place i had it tested, the place to the right of the rear no. plate seems a good idea, the need for another vent pipe into the valve box puzzles me, as im sure i read that one is adequate, but some have two on.
would like to entrust it to gasure as they know the T25, but flintshire is a good 90 miles or so away

My filler is behind the number plate and I have to open the tailgate when using the nozzle with the lever as opposed to the trigger one. I didnt have this problem when the filler was located on the rear side of vehicle. Still. with the filler behind the number plate I can fill from either side and don't come across those lever type fillers very often!

Ray, if you have to lift your tailgate, its because the installer fitted the bayonet without thinking! it just needs turning 90 deg and you won't have a problem, or buy a adaptor like the eArly filler and it will screw in the middle of the large recessed type and extend it to miss the taildoor........
told you early two part fillers were better.
as for rubber tween the tank straps.... never seen one yet with it!

Thats what i thought, they're plastic coated anyway, have since noticed tho that the tank has no rubber between it and the floor, also the substantial looking frame around the tank which my r&r bed mounts to is touching the tank in places, which it shouldn't do according to an LPG book i've got, unless there is rubber between. going to remove the frame and alter it a bit to create a bit of clearance, and alter slightly where the r&r bed mechanism bolts on, as it catches the frame a bit.

We had our's fitted on the O/S/R panel, I have a bike rack and had a bad back so didn't want the crouching under the rack approach. Also our local gas station had the old lever styleee filler nozzle which can be awkward (allegedly) when the filler's behind the no. plate.
The vaporiser is in the cavity where the warm air unit was, this is surplus once converted.

got a flush mount filler now, and the necessary clips, tubing, and i reckon where the petrol filler is on a syncro, or near the rear of the back wheel arch are looking like favourite locations,either way i'll stick a reinforcing plate to the inside of the area to stop the weight of the filler gun buckling the panel.
