travel cot in Westy-where is best place to put it?

1986 Westy Club Joker. I have a 7yr old who likes the roof and now a 5month old who i want to squeeze in downstairs in a travel cot.
When i put it on the floor it fill the all floor space - anyone got any clever solutions for hiding it up front somewhere?

having same problem,this is my plan... sleep with feet facing back of van, build a shelf which rests on brackets over engine area, high enough so can easily sleep with feet under it when rock and roll bed is down(about 60cm high)use a normal size cot materess ( 60x120cm) make a cot from fabric (same as normal travel cot but with no frame work) materess sits in this but rests on the shelf.the fabric sides hook up to side/roof of van to keep them up,one of the long sides has zips in it to be able to get baby in/out. This is still in the design stage,what do you think? have seen similar idea used in front cabin but then we would lose use of swivel seat,hence putting in back which is just dead space when the rock and roll bed is down,sounds very complicated but isn't,wish could do diagram! vic.

Yes a shelf like that is fitted to Autosleepers made from 12mm ply and is surprisingly strong.

This is how we did it... you need an awning for the passenger seat though!
Take the passenger seat out (small clip on the side) and put it in the awning. Then I had a piece of 12mm ply with a leg on it and a small notch for the gearstick and this sat on the seat base. We then had the graco multicoloured travel cot (slightly smaller than average) and that fitted in there fine. I also put some edges on the corners so the cot couldn't slide around. Then we put a curtain up (velcroed to the carpet on the headlining) and the nippers had their own little room up front. Worked really well for us for 5 years of nippers.

When first was little I modified a cot from front seat area and installed it in back of rock n roll bed. Being behind seat allowed seat to be up during the day and still use the back cot during the day. We slept with feet to back hatch and when baby neeed something during night only had to set up and take care of them.

When second came along we used a front seat cot for oldest and put baby in back again.

we've got a pop up cot our little one sleeps in, takes up half the side of the r'n'r and my missus sleeps next to her, i can snore happily up in the roof

we leave the travel cot in the awning then for her to go in in the day when she likes.

Weve got a westy cali. we leave r&r up, and put 18mth to bed in bed bit behind r&r chair, close all curtains around him, cargo net the gap behind the head of the r&r chair and drape a curtain over that. Same as a cot!! When we go to bed, we pull r&r into bed position, he's flat out asleep, my missis sneaks in, and I pop up top with our 6yr old. bobs your man!

we did a similar thing in our autosleeper with the samsonite travel cot.
slid the seat off then put a 60by100cm board there ( long side down the van )
it fits perfectly - push it forward as far as it will go and its just about flush with the back of the pedestal. then a bungee from seat belt anchor to seat belt clip to hold it firm and the cot on top - worked great. ( although the lack of an awning to put the seat made it a bit crowded in the van.)
