Could it be that the gas pilot light was not directly under the flame failure device because the van was not level.

The flame has to be in constant contact with the device to maintain the heat level. If the flame is off centre the device cools down and automatically cuts of the gas and the fridge stops working. It is a safety device so that if the flame is blown out by a draft you don't get gassed or blown up by the build up....... Just a thought.

Thanks - but level ground wasnt the issue - the flame was burning quite well as far as i can see through the spy hole.

I have turned it over for the night and given it a good shake so im hoping that will fix it...

I have now got two fans and a thermostat - just need to work out what temp i need to switch the fans on...

About 25 degrees C ?

Thanks
