Just curious.
I have just dismantled the dash and was wondering what the purpose is of the cylindrical shape object which has three earth (brown) leads and one vacuum line attached.
And another thing that's been bothering me - the front diff has this flashing light mechanism indicating that the diff lock is to about to actuated which never seems to work properly, I asssume this is merely a 'safety' device along with the twist and pull operation of the lever.
Any reason why I shouldn't convert this to the same operation as the rear diff?
Or perhaps use electrically operated 'pneumatic' actuators instead on these manual levers then you could position the switches in a more user friendly position but the I am completely re-wiring my DOKA.

Making the knob red and providing a simple locking pin for it would have provided a more reliable and understandable 'message'...
bit like a genade once the pin's pulled...

The knob for the front diff has to be turned by a quarter turn to the right before you can pull it out.
Once you push it in again, some kind of spring mechanism ensures that it does its quarter turn automatically and goes into its home postion.
There is a simple nose/groove arrangement in the plastic knob housing that prevents the straight pull outwards.
