Newborn in the van

Post by west E »

Just thinking about having are first holiday in the van with our 13 week old son. This has probably been covered many a time but what do people use for there babies to sleeep in. The little lad is to big for his moses basket now, so i can't use that. I wondered if any knows of a travel cot that will fit down below next to the missus, and i'll go up top.

thanks

ian

do you have a converted van with a wardrobe in the rear or a full width bed?

OK, this is what I did...............got a pop top thermo mat, keeps the top nice and warm plus it makes it nice and dark...........this enables the little'un to sleep up top.

With the bed folded out fully, one of these

Fits perfectly and baby sleeps in a nice dark and warm place, leaving the bottom bed free for Mum & Dad :D

Alternatively you can put a shelf across the bottom of the bed (tailgate end) and put the travel cot on there

Owlets sounds like the simplest though

That's what I did for my lil'uns.. but used a modified front cot cut down to fit between wardrob and wall and behind seat when seat was up.
Worked a real treat...
was easier on feet!

What a poet I am.

thanks all for your replies. Were trying to find something that will fit on the rock and roll bed with my wife next to the baby. Up top will be ok for me but my wife is vertically challenged and might struggle if the baby was up top. Will have to experiment.

thanks again

travel cot

Post by rednip120372 »

we started taking our baby when he was 4 months old and after much searching found a regular style travel cot that fits in the van and lasts up to about 18months old. It's 20% smaller than a normal sized one.

Graco petite bassinett...

It's great for putting them in outside or in the awning as well and because of the high sides they can't tip it over or make a bid for freedom!!!

It comes with a bit that makes it shallow for when they're really tiny with a hood but we never used that bit. I think we paid about 60 pounds for ours... :D

He's 6 months old now and there's still plenty of room...Just remember to get a bit of milk out of the fridge before you put it in situ for the night if you want a coffee later!!
Jason & Claire & baby & the Poodle came too!!!

Our sons eight months and he has always just slept next to my wife and with me up top. When he is in there by himself, we put pillows at the end of the bed to stop him crawling backwards off the bed
