Another temp proplem

Post by matty o »

Hi all
Had the van for a 2 weeks now almost on top of al the jobs that I did not
expect
But since I have had it the temp gage reads just to the right of the warning
light and reading other posts it should be on the light
I have flushed the system and giving the system a good bleed the pointer says steddy and the fan does not run but it still reads high any ideas

The temp gauge is a very "-ish" affair.

The needle on mine (turbo diesel) always sits a good bit to the right of the LED and everything is fine. As long as it stays there and the light doesn't come on, I wouldn't worry about it.

I agree ^^^
VW made a number of temp senders over the years, A previous owner may have fitted the 'wrong' one, as long as the gauge behaves as you would expect dont worry too much.
Read the wiki on how to bleed the system.
