odd clutch slipping problem

My clutch has an odd problem, it slips after i have had to brake hard ( ie had to pull the van up rather sharpest last night) and because i was pointing up hill the clutch slipped?
At first i thought it was the engine seal on the clutch side , but i'm not sure now

, i'm thinking that the brake fluid is old and is in need of a change ( BTW how much does the system take)

It never slips other than after pulling up quick and the clutch is quite new

The clutch and brake master cylinders are shared so its not so strange that a clutch problem should show up after heavy breaking .
Check the system for leaks and pay particular attention to the clutch slave cylinder seals.
Failing that, scrap it.
Am thinking about doing that to mine since it started misfiring violently and never got further than 5 miles from home on a trip to France.Now the problems gone away on its own .

not quite sure how this clutch/brake sharing thing works but i wonder if it's possible that hitting the brakes real hard somehow pressures up the shared fluid tank through dodgy seals or summat.
or are yah brakes stickin on mekkin you have to slip the clutch to get it movin?

its odd , i've do a wee bit of testing trying to get the clutch to slip but it wont do it ?
dogman i've checked for leaks etc and its all good ..

brakes aren't binding or owt ..

No leaks then.
Have you checked for air entrapment ?
I had slightly spongy brakes intermittently some time ago on heavy braking.
Went away when I replaced the servo vacuum hose to the carb.
Bit of a long shot but worth checking.

Other than that, like I said, it's just old and German

think i may changed the fluid ... its of an unknown age so could be on its way out

Tha's boiled thee fluid .... daft lad !

That's what the main problem's been wi The Bus's crutch, caused by a binding brake according to m0ck1, and not helped by the big stop we had to do on the way to Whitby

We changed our fluid last week and it looked like someone's been frying chips in it for a year. Much better pressure now

How much brake fluid did it take ? and having never done a full replacement of the fluid can you take me through it please
