Hi all,
I've had an intimately problem with my gears with the change from 2nd to 3rd getting really stiff, seems to happen and then more or less go away. Today, driving back from Anglesey (it broke down last time I went there - think it has a problem with the place!) I couldn't change from 3rd to 4th all of a sudden, then struggled to get any gears at all. Managed to limp back in 2nd and now I can get gears but it's very stiff, particularly between 3rd and 4th. It's the same whether the engine is off or on.
Steve has changed the gearbox oil and said there was no gank on the magnetic plug, wondering if it's a linkage problem or dying clutch.?
Anyone got any ideas??

I reckon it's due to the way it's being driven
Mine had problems with going from third to second and eventually the clutch started slipping. New clutch cured both problems.
2000 miles later, and on long journeys my gears seem to stiffen up, never had it refuse to go into gear yet, but maybe it's just wear.
Not the clutch causing my symptoms this time around unless it's worn in 3000 miles.
Don' suppose this helps with a rectification much, thought you may find it of interest.

I had this problem, strangly when it was wet also. Turned out to be a load of mud/dirt and other assorted items of schmuck surrounding the gear selector bar running from the gear lever at the front to the gearbox at the back. I just dropped the spare wheel at the front, got a WD40 can and the squirty red nozzle thingy that always gets lost and squirted the bush with a load of oil! Its a bit difficult to see and a bit far back but thats what the squirty nozzle is for... Just aim and squirt! Hope this helps.
Mark.
