temperature gauge... again!

Post by eastwesty »

all you temperature gauge experts...

i've followed all the threads on this: my gauge needle doesn't move, so i'm trying to short the temp sender to check that the wiring to the front and gauge itself is ok- i've got three spade connectors coming off the back of my engine block/thermostat housing- one in the middle of the thermo housing behind a rubber bung, and one either side of the thermostat. one of these is a brown wire, the other a (dirty) blue and white stripe... can anyone tell me what i should be shorting to what?

thanks!

Hi ya,,,,,,,,I'm not claiming to be an expert but could you remind us what engine you are refering to ??

As any help we give you will help us to reference what we are talking about.

Can I have a guess anyway ?,,,,,,,,Aircooled Diesel ??

Only joking.
