Loose hose.

Post by Balaclava »

Can anybody tell me what this hose does? It's come free from the little cylinder. It doesn't seem to be effecting performance of engine but I'm sure it would be happier back in it's hole!
Will it have to be spotwelded back on?

OK but please excuse my total ignorance of all things mechanical!!

It's a 1.6 water cooled , turbo charged deisel. The van is B reg but this engine is not quite so old. Dunno what year it was put in. Does that help?

The canister it goes too increases fuel when under boost, without it connected you get more air but no extra fuel so a loss of power. It will go much better when you fix it.
