are engine mounts for t25 easy to fit one of the rear one is about shot is it a full engine out jobbie

Hi
There are four of them, two outer and two inner ones, spread across the rear 'bearer bar', which is in turn bolted to the chassis side rails by two nuts and bolts each side.
The engine crank case has an aluminium frame bolted to it (there were two shapes used on early/late models, but both fitted same way) and it is attached using 3 large bolts. You do not have to remove this frame but it makes everything easier if you do.....

(Hope you havent got a towbar - makes it more time consuming)...

so, first, loosen the front gearbox mounting nut to allow it to swing down without damaging the bush, then loosen all water hoses/air filter connections etc in engine bay, where they are fitted to sides. You will need to drop engine and gearbox a few inches so best not have it hanging on anything!

support engine on trolley jack (with a sturdy bit of wood too) and undo the side chassis rail mounts. Lower engine/gearbox/exhaust complete, just a few inches. KEEP CHECKING in engine bay for any strain on hoses etc!

Undo the the aforementioned large bolts, and remove whole bearer bar and crankcase bracket assembly...easy!

Best replace all four mounts (JK do em I know) and you will loose the shakes! :D

my 2.1 rebuild is smeared with sealed :lol:

hmm that was fun well i aint fininshed it yet been at it all whole of the fansurround etc had to come off alternator just to get at the mount to undo them thought it was just the one that was shot.
but it was all four of them good job i brought all four. (one of the centre ones wasnt as gd a fit as the other slightly different cheers jk nothing a small file didnt sort out in the end.
