Maplins satelite system

Post by Pickles »

Anyone bought one of the satelite systems in a box from Maplins
seems a good deal for £79

The package looks very similar to the Lidl one that has been offered recently for near 60 quid IIRC. Not a bad deal if it does all it says on the box.

I got one of those maplin satelite suitcases and I have to say that they're excellent. Got pictures in less than a few minutes and I'm very pleased with it.

One quick tip on setting up the dish:-

- Use the compass initially to point it towards Astra and set the elevation between 30 to 40-ish.
- Use the built-in sat-finder on the reciever to align the dish with the satelite (to Astra 28.8E).

I forgot to mention one thing about the maplin satellite suitcase and that is it's made by Silvercrest (badged as Comag).

Thier website (from memory) is http://www.mysilvercrest.de/
