the good thing i like about my freeview box is there is an infra red remote extender wire so you can hide the box away and still use the remote control

Hi eveyrone,

Just to let you know that I've had nothing but trouble with mine (my one is the 200 quid 9.2" freeview/DVD/usb player combo).

I have tried using an omni-directional aerial (only works in a strong signal area) and a directional aerial (could only get analogue TV when I was at a campsite in North Walsham).

Has anyone on here had any luck on getting freeview to work on campsites?

We have a Nextbase TV/DVB/DVD combo thingy and its fab. The quality of the picture is entirely dependant on the strength of signal available. On some sites I have been able to use the little magnetic aerial that came with it. Other times I have hooked it up to an Image 530/18-2 Directional high gain aerial bought off fleabay for about £15. Omni directional aerials are expensive and IMHO not worth the extra cost.

Hope this helps.

This onecame recommended and has worked fine in and around the Hants / Dorset area so far.

You can get pole mounted kits for it see here
