1.9TD Consumption - accurate method

Post by HarryMann »

Have been promising for some time to put up some figures and an Excel chart showing a proper consistent method to show long term trend... hereis just the chart for now.

http://wiki.80-90.co.uk/index.php/Fuel_ ... el_Syncros

Blue line is mpg-to-date, the average consumption at any point, pink is the latest brim-to-brim...

The high-point around 26 mpg is probably a brimming error, but doesn't affect the long term accuracy of course... all fills are brimmed , some better than others, these Syncros also spill a bit of fuel when fully brimmed.

As the weather warms and dries and with less XC and less heavy loads it should pick up... other mods waiting in the wings. The last point of about 21mpg was heavy on A roads at night, tyres up to full pressure (usually aired down for XC), and going up to 70, but 60~65 on most stretches and pulling strongly up hills to keep average speed up.
