advice about turbo leak

I have been having probs with a blow somewhere coming from the engine causing lack of power. So, I investigated it and found it to be coming from the turbo. I recently took turbo apart and cleaned everything and put it all back together again. However, I now have this lack of power and loss of exhaust gases coming out of the turbo from the place where thr C brackets are (held on by 6 little bolts). I have back soot indicating an escape of gases and I can feel it with my hand when the engine is on. On Wiki it indicates there should be a “ROLL TAPERED SEAL"| (see pic on the Wiki Website under turbo) that would obviously prevent gas from escaping and seal everything nice and tight....

My question is (before I take it all off to have a look): is this seal removable and replaceable and if so where do I get one from? AND is it rubber, metal, or part of the body of the turbo? (difficult to see in the pic) ...and lastly, is there actually supposed to be a gasket on there anyway (not shown in the pic) which goes in the groove?

I know I can take it off and have a look but that would mean no transport for a few days, so I wanted to find this info out BEFORE I took it off...as it might take 3 weeks to find a new part etc.
Im assuming it doesn't have one on there (maybe it sprang off without me noticing when I took it apart) or it needs replacing...but because it is not gas tight I reckon im losing 30bhp and I have the usual loud blowing noise when driving!
I would really appreciate any help on this one as I think I can prob repair the turbo without having to get another one as apart from this seal everything on it is ok. Anyone got any ideas?

Buy a full seal kit, then you can strip it and replace the lot, and have it back on in one day. Most seals of that type are use once, then replace on strip-down. Have a search for local turbo specialist for the parts. Sure it`s not just leaking from the manifold to turbo joint face?

Good one, and cheaper too. Didnt realise you could get a whole set (hopefully anyway)..so ill check that out...its def from the place i mentioned yeah...turbo to manifold joint seems good...ive clean it well and checked at a later date to see if there was any sooty deposits around that particular joint and there was'nt..only round the turbo spot im refering to so yeah im pretty sure...i wish it were that simple

seen some turbo seal kits on Ebay, from some turno specialists, not sure if they do a set for yours, is it KKK or the other?

Cheers, yeah kkk..nought wrong with it other than that seal. Thats why id prefer to fix it..prob go to a shop and av a chat with someone rather than do an ebay over the net type purchase...then i can make sure its def the correct bits....need to do all that before i take it off tho as i use it all the time and dont want it off the road for longer than a day if i can help it...
Will let you know how it goes anyhow.
