Brilliant - more problems!

Post by uniB »

So now I know what my detatched pipe is - I've got 4 new tyres today and now....

I've started getting a knocking noise, mainly when in gear and when you take my foot off the accelerator - if I push the cluch down it stops knocking. It knocks in time with the speed, so it slows down as I do - and, I'm sure related - my gears are getting stiffer and stiffer and stiffer.... and when you put the clutch down and move the gear knob about it creeks a lot.

I'm just up the road from Steve at Gasure so if all goes wrong maybe I could land myself on him!

and it was OK before the new tyres went on ?
where you there when the fitters fitted them ?

i'd jack the rear up and with the front chocked and it out of gear hand brake off spin the wheel and see if the noise is there ,

i'd also speak to steve and get him to give it a quick looking at ,

It was knocking before the new tyres but the gears were changing fine.

I watched the fella putting the wheels on and I didn't see anything out of the ordinary , although I did think when he was tightening them up that I'd need 3 mates to undo them!

I was ruling the wheels out because the gear change is still stiff and creeky when stopped with the engine off.

I saw him jack it up, I think he did it at the jack up points at the back close to the edge of the van,not far enough in to get to the gear box I don't think
