Looking at the green paint, the cheapo doorcards and the brown plastic seats; I'd say this one used to be a German border police (BGS / Bundesgrenzschutz) vehicle before it got camperised.

There probably are a few holes and extra wires where there normally wouldn't be any.

Should have a good service record, but could have high mileage and/or offroad damage.

Nice little van that appears to be owned by someone who does not really know what he has got. Thats a standard early Syncro colour for the C spec vehicles as were the 'basic' Kombi interiors. I reckon its based on a Kombi as opposed to a Caravelle and looks to be in good nick. Wonder what the milage is.

[anorak on]
If that paintjob was original, then the A-pillar would have to be painted beige as well. On all original two-tones the A-pillar was the same colour as the bottom.

Hi,

the first syncros were only one tone coloured. Ther were no two coloured syncros with white and green.
This car was complete escorial-green.

I've seen this paint scheme before on German Syncro Kombis but not on anything else. Are they (were they) government vehicles?

No. exactly like the one for sale which has 155k kms on the clock. I think they were government vehicles of some sort. There has been a few on e bay over the last few years. One, I remember, had only 30k kms on it
