Gearbox refilling top tip

Post by syncroandy »

For those without fully-equipped workshops, lifts etc.

Go straight down to your local motor factor and buy or if necessary order a Laser 500cc Oil Suction Gun. It's a big metal syringe, with a 6" plastic hose, that costs less than 10 quid. With it you'll be able to refill your gearbox from empty in about 5mins with no cursing at all..
Syncrosport (taking a break as of summer 2024)

But mostly used for draining brake fluid as no one ever seems to bother changing theirs...

usually black, with nice big black globs of "stuff" in the bottom of the reservoir..

Or a big placcy syringe (minus the needles) from the chemist. Use `em for brake fluid, g/box oil, anywhere you can`t get at easily.
Keep it real.
