Just Kampers Split Charge Relay System

Post by Poddington »

Has anyone used the split charge relay system for sale on Just Kampers...

Is it any good/good value?

Is there a cheaper/easier way to do it?

HI, You just need a relay and some wire, I bought a kit from my local car spares shop. The guys there even drew a diagram for me whilst I was there. (don't think you would get that service from one of the large car spares shops) In total cost me just shy of a tenner.
Don't forget to include your postage.

Wiring diagram

Post by meggles »

Hi folks, I just want a system which will charge my leisure battery so I have electrickery when I park up to power my TV, water pump and interior lights. Also a back up should main battery fail. What sort of system do I need. I have several relays from various vehicles but don't know if any are suitable. elecs were not my strong point! What sort of relay and can anyone offer a simple wiring diagram. I got a very complicated one when I requested details a while ago on another site. (not complaining, just didn't suit my needs). I think it was designed for a 240v system, I don't have that. anyway, any info appreciated, thanks. :)

There's a simple diagram on the wiki (top of the page)

If you want a back up battery then don't buy a leisure batt...just a normal type.
