First ever T3/Syncro to be NCT'd ?

Post by peasant »

Am I?

Kind of got the impression today ...
The whole testcenter came to a standstill and all testers were swarming in and around the vehicle having a good poke around. Some even wanted to chat about the yoke afterwards and were quite impressed.

Anybody else got a T3 NCT'd? Or do you all drive vans / campers?

To non-Irish readers: NCT is the equivalent of MOT ...but only for passenger cars. Vans and other commercial vehicles get a DOE test, campers aren't tested at all.

Oh ...and I failed :D ...on front wheel alignment, which I kinda suspected to be out . (Just found out today the the otherwise uber-correct German TUEV (which my yoke passed three months ago) doesn't even test for alignment)

No other faults or remarks though ..so I'll get it aligned and finally on the road.

I inquired beforehand and nailed them to it in writing ...with them boys you never know.

They might have a looksee here one day and see everybody raving on about Syncros and all of a sudden you have "collectors car" and 2k VRT on your hands.

When I got my Syncro NCT'd they commented on it having "one of the best suspension systems theyve ever seen!" and said mechanically it was like a new van. I have to get rear seatbelts fitted for this time around though. Its due next month.

somebody on a German forum ...and it turns out they were wrong :D

They DO test for alignment ... but apparently either to different values or not at all in my case

(You shouldn't believe everything you read on a forum 8) )

Back to the alignment issue... :)

Make sure whoever does the alignment, sets it to the correct values... there has often been dispute over whatsome of these really are i.e. where will they be getting the setting values from?

If they don't have the values, I guess I'll be translating this:
