I worked out that to break even you need to do 6020.4 miles. After that it's pure profit

I used averages of 0.939p/litre for petrol and 0.429p/litre for LPG giving a difference of 0.51p/litre and using an average consumption figure of 17mpg

Conversion cost = £820

Difference between average petrol (93.9p) and LPG (42.9p) cost =£0.51p/litre

£820 divided by 0.51 = 1607.8 litres

1607.8 litres divided by 4.54 = 354.14 gallons

Average of 17mpg x 354.14 gallons = 6020.4 miles to break even

At 23mpg on Petrol at 95.9p a litre

17mpg on gas at 41.9p a litre;

Cost of conversion £950.

Break even at 12279 miles.

Please don't ask to see the working out!!!

Some people don't listen do they!!!! You cannot do you calculations from a new conversion, the system will need to be run in and then adjusted, I did tell you all of this, if you are doing 23 on petrol then we should be able to match it on gas, but not yet so please stop harping on.

  • Had recon engine last October so the following figures are from then :->>

    LPG = 1536.32 ltrs
    Miles = 5656

    MPG = 16.7.

    Mostly about town with a few long runs.

    So I have no complaints
