fitting syncro mirrors - screws

Post by edmundator »

I can't find decent screws for the top brackets of my new syncro mirrors... I've got some makeshift chipboard screws of roughly the right size in there at the moment, but really need something better.

Can anyone help me with a place to get the right ones (and tell me exactly what I need)?

Cheers, Ed

i first used drywall screws but decided to pop a couple of rivets in as screws mean they can be nicked really easy.

You can buy security screws that can only be removed with a security hex/torx key.

I fitted mine (or had them fitted) by welding captive nuts inside the door frame (remove the quarterlight window for this) which is secure and strong.
