Kangaroo behaviour again
My van is behaving like a kangaroo again. It does not rev consistently and cuts out. Whilst driving today I felt it go as I was trying to overtake in 3rd. I managed to keep the revs up and limped into work, but it was a rough ride - juddering and lurching. When I tried to get home it would start fine, but kept cutting out. The only way to keep it going was to keep my foot on the throttle. Had to get breakdown recovery. The breakdown bloke reckons it's the fuel pump. I'm not sure, think it might be the auto-choke or the vacuum advance on the dizzy. The carb was recently partly stripped and cleaned. Anyone got a clue about what it might be?

Shyte in the fuel system
Dug (a long term forum user) has a very similar fuel problem with his 1.9 at this very moment, it could be the same thing as his causing problems,,,,,,,,,,,it appears the particles of crap are coming from the inside of the fuel tank (corroded or summat).
First job for you must be to remove the fuel filter and cut it open to see exactly what if anything is inside it........Then take it from there.
This is just a suggestion, rather than pointing to any single item and guessing....
Regards
