Westfalia T253 – faulty thermostat controller replacement ad

Post by irishkeet »

Hi all
I'm planning on buying a Westfalia T253 but the heater is not working.
The seller has said the thermostat controller is gone and has got a replacement, can anyone tell me how much it would cost to replace? And does anyone know somewhere in the North London/Herts area that can do this?

Many thanks
Irishkeet

hi,

check under the van that the heater pipes are all connected up ok.

i had the same problem with my Aircooled when i got it. the heater pipes where disconected and blanked off, when i put it back together the van filled with smoke as oil was leaking onto heat exchangers and being blown down the pipes and out all the vents.
maybe this has the same problem ( naughty sales trick ) if you ask me.

Water cold versus air cooled

These guys are talking about more modern engines using this new-fangled water stuff for cooling - and heating - not like our splendid, classic air and oil-fume-enhanced heating/cooling systems....
