Armrest removal

Can anybody tell me how to remove the armrests on my captains chairs ?

There is a roll pin in the bar between the seat and the arm.

It is a bit of a bugger to get to, mine is at about 45 degrees. Back to front: Low to High.

Oooh - I've got a broken one where the screw system has come unthreaded so it locks in near vertical, or flops about - any ideras how to fix that???
