Fitting a oil pressure sender

Post by KarlT »

Hi oh' wise Oracles!

Have found a 5 bar VDO oil pressure gauge.

Was thinking of wiring up a sender.

Spoke to J Kampers they sell senders for £56 ! ! but didn't know if it would fit watercooled T25 engine & if it did which sender it would replace.

Any of you lot fitted one?

oddly enough i found a set of vdo gauges [oil temp' oil pressure' and volts]on top of a dust bin!!. i fitted them to my type 2,used a dip stick sender[for temp] the two terminal sender for oil pressure and oil warning light[both vdo].i now have fitted the two terminal pressure sender to my t25,i fitted it in place of the low pressure switch,i havent wired up the gauges yet, but in your case you only need to run one wire from the sender to the gauge.hopefully someone will post where to fit the sender om your van[petrol?].
good luck.
I dont think, so I'm not[do I exist?]

Have a look on here
http://www.brickwerks.co.uk/
They do an extention pipe and adapters, may even be able to help with the sender.
Never enough time
