Newbie seeking help exhaust question
I own an 84 Joker camper 1.6D van LHD and I need to replace a section of the exhaust in particular the bit between the manifold and the silencer. I have managed to source the part through GSF but it is nothing like the one fitted to my van. The existing section is much longer and has a catalytic converter fitted. I am just wondering if the GSF replacement will still do the job even though it is much shorter. I will do a rough check by measuring the distance between the flanges but was wondering if anybody else out there has experience with this. Any help appreciated.

If it's a diesel it won't have a CAT.

Perhaps part of the exhaust has been lifted off a petrol model then because there is definately a large can shaped object on the straight section heading back to the silencer. Interesting! I have been keen to get rid of this section because it also has a flexible joint which rattles around on tickover
. Thanks for the info.
