'86 Polo question

Post by Drew »

Hi all,

Just looking for some help on my old Polo Coupe S:

It's cutting out / running on 3 when it reaches a decent operating temperature, particularly on a constant throttle.

It feels like it may be fuel starvation or something similar (it has a fuel filter fitted, clean) but does anyone have any experience of this at all?

Cheers

Pete

If its non-injection and a Pierburg carb that's likely the problem.

Swap it for a Weber.

Is that a fairly common problem? Also, any idea which Weber I should go for?

I can't check it as I abandoned it near Lyme Regis yesterday outside a garage who said they'd look at it when they get round to it :(
