hi all,
just wondered if a smashed mirror glass on the passenger side door is reason for an MOT failure, does anyone know?
does anyone know if replacement mirror glass for the carat style big mirrors are available still?
door mirror/MOT question . . . .

I understood that if windows were fitted (as standard), they had to be in place and operable. There is definitely a requirement for drivers to have some sort of rearward vision. I used to have an X1/9 that had no wing mirrors as standard, so only the rear-view mirror needed to be present for the test.

I didn't think they were included in the MOT. Not everything fitted MUST work. I haven't had reversing lights on either my van or car for several years. However everything must be safe. There should be no sharp edges to the glass and no possibility of it falling out. Phoning the test centre first is the safest option but I would be inclined to cover them.
look what I've just found...
