I think I may have a problem with my cooling system. 1986 1.9DG
I went away camping, didn't start the engine for 3 days, I was doing the usual check before going home and I noticed the coolant system was still pressurised (the expansion tank spewed up on my feet when I opened the cap).
I've tried bleeding the system, as per the wiki, but no air comes out (just a tiny trickle of coolant) and the 2 large hoses coming out of the thermostat housing are hard, although the top one (coming out of the top of the housing and going towards the front) is actually cool.
Its not loosing or using coolant.
The temp needle stays just left of the red light.
The engine is running nicely (although maybe idling a tad fast).
All seems good....except the constantly pressurised system.
Any tips appreciated.
Coolant probs?
