Is this Westfalia roof a goner??

Hi all, Great site, lots to take in.......

I've been looking round at various campers and I've found one which looks decent in most respects but I'm concerned about the roof.

It has a Westfalia pop top and the front of the pop section sits about 40mm above the roof rack section at the front.

Apparently an 'outer tent' was fitted to the pop which has forced the roof up over the years.

Now I'm assuming all this has to sit snugly to be waterproof. I really can't afford to do much with the van straightaway, does anyone know if the roof can be reset to sit snugly or does this sound like a serious problem.

I put my weight on the roof and it pushed downward toward the rack but didn't quite seal.

Anyone come across this before, should I walk?

You can buy new canvas for the pop top from Just Kampers, I fitted one earlier this year, not too much of a job.

can't see why the roof won't shut properly, are the hinges distorted or something?
