i did this to stop bass shaking my van like a rattle!
i have used 3 rolls of 'Roof Flashing' which cost me £30 all together and i hanaged to do the whole roof, rear door and the drivers and passenger doors are well. looks the dogs ;) justy needs some wood to cover it all up now :D

Has any one else done with with anything else or with flashing?

I haven't got round to the bus yet, but I've done my car with flashing tape. Makes a hell of a difference. A plus side effect is the doors now clunk shut rather than sounding cheap and tinny. Sounds.......... german.
Found bass response much inproved, less rattles from loud bass and improved general response at all levels.

Does it insulate the van too? I need to insulate mine and this might kill two birds with one stone.

for insulation i used polystrene blocks cut down to fit, it seems to have worked as the van was nice and warm all night when we went away in it the other weekend :D
