Oil light

Post by Easy Tiger »

Hi all,

I was driving into work this morning and the dreaded red oil light came on.
Pulled over as soon as I could - had a cigarette to give the oil time to settle - checked it and the levels are fine.
Continued into work (all fingers crossed) - checked the levels again at lunchtime - still fine.
I noticed when I rev the engine the light dims or goes out completely (for a few seconds anyway.

I've checked the wiki and got confused about buzzers etc (no buzzer sounding on my van)

The oil is filthy so I'm gonna have to change it. I've been talking to a handy friend and he thinks it would be worthwhile changing the filter and pressure switch.

Anyway am gonne be doing the above changes tomorrow morning at my friends workshop - anything else I should be looking at?

(typically I was meant to be off to Cornwall tonight for a very long weekend but I'd rather lose a days chilling than sieze my engine!!)

cheers

John
