LPG tank location in a Westy?

Post by gmiller »

How do folks.

I've decided to take the plunge and go for getting my 83 Westy gassed. If any other Westy owners have done the same, I'd be most interested to learn about the location of the LPG tank. I'm worried that the storage capacity would be compromised.

Next year, I'll be replacing the engine. If one was to transfer the LPG conversion components to a replacement engine in the same vehicle, would it have to be set up again?

Many thanks,
Gary Miller

We got our Westy gassed 18 months ago. 45lt doughnut tank in the rear wardrobe. To be honest we've never missed the space.

There are still enough cupboards to fit all our stuff even with the gas tank. Good investment, I'm happier with the gas as I probably wouldn't use the van as much if I was shoving petrol in it.

Thanks for that.

The wardrobe and under the bench were the places that I thought of. If I had to loose either of these, it'd be the wardrobe. That thing always turns into a bottomless pit of toys and stuff when we go away!

Just need to get it booked in now!
