Just Checking,,,,,,,,,,,

Post by Fritz »

A few questions I seem to ask myself before, during and after each time we turn out on a camping trip.

1, Am I supposed to be stuffing as much bedding, fleece blankets, pillows into the cupboard/wardrobe thing in the back of the van?

2, Have we got enough camping gaz to last us the whole weekend (Why doesn't it run out when you are at home ?)

3, How many toys for the kids do we take ? are they likely to want their bikes the Flyer OR both ?

4, How many extra emergency lamps and batteries have I got / do I take ?

5, Why are we taking enough clothes for the kids to last a week when we are only going for an overnight stay ?

6, Why is there never any room left in the fridge for any beer ?

7, If the check list has been checked why have we forgot somthing important like 'Coffee' ???

8, Why just before we set off, do I keep having to borrow the neighbours double 12 ladder to break in to my own home to pick up a door key left on the unit by the door,,,,

9, Why do we never take proper camping food with us like Crumpets ?

10, Why and I so knackered during the next day at work, after a relaxing weekend away ???? :o :o :o

OR is it just me,,,,,,,,,,,,,, :?

well said that man and the beer is an issue indeed....and

why does the bathroom and kitchen have to be clinically spotless 10 mins before we go?

and the house be ready for a state visit

why does everyone disappear when we get home and unpack?

when am I going to learn not to put stuff in the bed box that is needed at night.?

and that the fridge will freeze solid every thing in it on 3

why do we have to have the pre trip row just before we go any where?

nope fritz not just you :D

Ohhh I am so happy. I thought it was only me, or so my wife was trying to convince me I was getting to be a grumpy ol bar steward.

I agree with you guys 100%.

I have a 8/12 year old boys and I am seroiusly considering buying one of those dinky caravans to get some peace and quiet en route.

And my misus and I always have a row at some point.

Happy days.

Don't worry, it gets easier as you gets older: not so many toys to worry about

we started out the wrong way! i never used to put anything in the van, i had to borrow clothes from onion the very first time i camped with 80-90, i had to wonder around whitby in shorts in the cold when i fell in the harbour, and have even had to borrow cutlery when i remembers the food but nowt to cook it in or eat it off!! luckily we are getting used to this camping lark so now nearly everything we need for a week away is packed into the van, including tins of food, clothes and beer, the only bother we have now is trying to remember where it all is!

as for fewer toys, i'm just trying to work out where to hide away my kites and buggy, so they are not in the way at the bashtie! trying to steer clear of an awning!

Don't forget the bus questions......
.

Is there enough oil still in the engine?

Will the bus make it that far?

Our kids are 10 an 12. We solve the tempers flying on the trips by stickin one of the kids in the front whilst the good lady sits in back with the other.
Swap em all around now and again to give em a change. Bought a sat nav and that solves many an argument too.
