Flexible ally concertina hose, run down near exhaust out of main airstream if you can..or to back of engine (back of vehicle where air will have watrmed up a bit.

All you can do is stop and let the warmth come through and try again..

If there is an insulation pack washer between carb and engine, then this might be changed for an ally or steel one..

That flexible tubing is removed from the 1.9 and the 2.1 when we do the LPG conversions, I've not had one freeze on me yet in well over 2000 conversions, make sure that the mainfold heater is working and if its a 1.9 the little black unit on the front of the carb is also a heater specifically designed to stop carb icing.

sounds like the 1.9 is a perfect candidate for it then, with all those preventative measures
It is vaporising liquid fuel (Evaporation) as well as choking the flow that does it, so I guess LPG would be less prone anyway -

Clive - indeed that is a known fact about carb icing, and yes you are right about LPG but don't try to teach your grandad to suck eggs, these vehicles run just as well on petrol as the owners well know, they are told to run for a period of time every month on petrol anyway and yes even they run out of gas and have to revert to petrol occasionally without any icing problems, check those heaters.
