I went to use my horn when an AA man decided to cut me up the other day and nothing - had to swear at him instead.
Tested it when I got home and it seems my horn works only when the engine not running - any ideas - bad earth????

possibly been rewired to ignition only, check by removing fuse 16 and see if horn still works whilst engine running if it does it has been rewired. Or maybe there is only enough juice to sound when alternator running (bad earth/switch/contact) it is negative switched some likely culprits are the horn itself, run a wire from battery direct to one contact of the horn and then earth the other. possible the wire that runs down the steering column (remove the plastic cowl check for continuity. should have permanent 12V going to the horn itself s wheel press button makes earth contact.
