Anybody ever fitted CU Heat exchangers....??

Post by toolsntat »

The units `I`m just about to fit have what look like offset bolt holes to the manifold but a quick glance underneath seems to show the existing ones with inline holes.....
The new gaskets are inline holed as well but when placed over the unit holes you could say that they would work..but you can also get offset holed gaskets :? :?
Can anyone shed any light on this dilemma???
Just trying to get to the bottom of this so that when the jobs started it can be finished in one go!!
Thanks
Andy

Andy and I have been PMing about this but for other people's benefit the answer is 2 of each - see the JK parts pages for informative pics:

Yes got the pm...
Could have found the answer myself but looked at an old JK catalogue and not their www site
So now hopefully all the bits will be in place for a complete system renewal :D :D
Many thanks

If they didn`t move first time I drilled down the side and then replaced em...
Was lucky, only 2 were stuck tight
Now what was a nightmare was the bolt on the offside support bracket  The VW boffs must have spent hours coming up with that bu***r

I was wondering about that one. :? Managed to get it off but didn't get it back on. figured I may have to go in from the top down.

looks like a half a day job for one bolt.
