1.8 Gti K Jet engine question

Post by slam_dunk »

Want to put 1.8 gti engine from Golf Mk1 into replace my 1.6na diesel. Anyone know if I will be ok to use existing fuel tank. The golf had a lifter pump to take fuel to main pump. I have the main pump/accumulator from golf, but will the fuel supply be ok to gti engine just with standard line from diesel fuel tank with no lifter pump????

the pump will need to be at same level or slightly below tank outlet, the pump will not pull fuel out of tank.

:D i fitted the same back in 92? and only used the one pump , so when you got to about a 1/4 tank of juice it would loose power on some bends , did not know at the time there was a pump in the tank , thought it was somet to do with swirl pots :D
