Replacing Headlights

Post by drippytap »

Have to replace my headlights on my '89 Westfalia California. Not a problem, I thought, so got two new units fron Just Kampers and waited for Good Friday.
Removed grill and light bracket/plate to behold some form of plastic twisty locky things with swivel screws - for adjusting the beams. But how do you get them off to fit onto new light units. And oh yeah one screw head is completely knackered. Can you buy new ones to "push" on and if so where?
:?

I bought my new light from VAG (was cheaper than JK) and it came complete with new nylon fixing posts and adjusters.

You will have to buy new ajusters--they appear to be 'one time' ie you cannot get them off the lamps once they are on---you can probably still order from your nearest VW van centre--

Cheers for that. Went into VW garage - and there were helpful. Got the adjusters and have just fitted the headlights back onto van.
