Cleaning Roof Lining

Post by BrokenSlider »

Does anyone have any tips on cleaning roof linings? Can I use regular cleaning stuff or will that mark it? Tried baby wipes and it went all wierd.

It needs replacing really but for now I will have to settle for a clean up due to funding

I got feed up and tried Trainer Whitener from Asda.

First coat was a bit patchy but after two it was ace.

What's making it dirty, mould or just general muck? If mould then normal mould clean shifts it easily

Thanks Kev trainer whitener never even crossed my mind!

It's just general muck really. There's a tiny patch of damp in one corner I think ... but tiny weeny. We smoke too so that doesn't help but it's been mucky since we got the van.

Cleaning Roof Lining

Someone else has previously recomended Flash With Bleach. It worked wonders on my roof lining. The revolting fresh chemical fragrance can be easily dulled with copious smoking.

i promise this is not a wind up.
either cellulose thinners on a clean white cloth,,, or clear nail varnish remover on a clean white cloth.
neither leaves any residue and will lift even the oily/greasyest of stains.
stinks for while but will wear off and will clean anything

Petrol does an amazing job on general grime and/or cigarette stains.

Need to ventilate the van well and preferably leave it overnight, but it does the trick.
