I have recently been there. I eventually gave up looking for an engine/car locally and took advantage of one of the 'breaker rings' on the internet. My request for an AAZ engine brought a number of replies and I got a 95 Passat engine, which had supposedly only done 60,000 miles or so, for £325 delivered. Came from ACD of Great Harwood, Lancs.

It has only been running for the last couple of weeks but seems to be OK on the short runs it has done so far. (Other work needs doing on the van before going further afield.)

I am not normally one to put my faith in something 'unseen' but it seems to have worked out OK this time.

cheers
Gary

Thanks Gary,

Due to the urgency of my engine woes, i have gone down the 1.9n/a route instead.

When i have more time and money, i may try and get all the bits together for a aaz conversion.

Cheers
